Accuracy in Extruder Scale-Up

This webinar will identify critical parameters used to translate a compound from lab-scale to production scale in order to duplicate the properties and performance of the lab-scale product on production-scale machinery. Process limitations based on available power, free volume and heat transfer will be used to estimate the scale-up factors as a function of screw diameter to reproduce specific energy and residence time. Scale-up of screw design will also be discussed in order to duplicate mixing characteristics on larger diameter machines.
