CPM Holdings open new 172,000 sq. ft. facility in Waterloo – CBS 2 Iowa’s News Now

A newly-built manufacturing facility is now open in eastern Iowa. CPM Holdings marked the opening with a ribbon cutting of its newest facility in 4000 block of Leversee Road Thursday morning. The 172,000-square-foot facility serves as the company’s regional center. That facility will also help expand some of their services, such as: Alternative fuel Animal feed Oilseed Iowa’s News Now spoke with David Webster, CEO of CPM, on Thursday to talk about the new manufacturing facility. “The new facility is set up for really more manufacturing, more advance processes,” said Webster. “We added processes, we added equipment.” Right now, The CPM Waterloo facility is home to 170 workers. The manufacturing facility houses state-of-the-art systems that are designed to help increase the company’s production and capacity. That manufacturing facility generated about 20 new jobs in the area. Iowa’s News Now spoke with Enrique Zarate, Plant Manager of the CPM Waterloo Plant, Thursday to talk about the grand opening. “I feel very proud of this factory, especially bringing more product into the Cedar Falls/Waterloo area,” said Zarate. The manufacturing facility was built using nearly 58 miles worth of electrical wiring, 841.5 tons of steel, and 500 trucks’ worth of concrete.
